Blount Excavating, Inc. was started in 1979 with one machine and two men determined to be successful in the grading and excavating business. They started with a vision of being the best in the business with customer satisfaction as the main goal.
Blount Excavating has traveled all over the southeast but decided about 18 years ago to stay within a ninety mile radius of Knoxville. Their knowledge and dedication to the area is an advantage unrivaled by their competition.
Blount Excavating prides themselves on their reputation of being the first contractor to call when it seems as if a job is too difficult. Blount Excavating has always tackled hard jobs, determined to find an efficient solution to their client’s dilemmas. They have demonstrated for years that if a job is too difficult or has to be done quickly, they are the contractor to call.
Blount Excavating has completed a wide array of jobs for many different clients over the past thirty years. They have worked on numerous projects for McGhee Tyson Airport, Tennessee Air National Guard, Knoxville Community Development Corporation, and the University of Tennessee, along with many private jobs around the greater Knoxville area.
Blount Excavating’s ability to meet the needs of their clients has been and continues to be their greatest asset; completing jobs ranging from small parking lot additions up to 100+ acre sites with two million cubic yards of earth to be moved. They pride themselves on attacking all jobs with the same desire and drive, no matter the size.

Equipment:
Over 100 pieces of equipment ranging from Cat 320 to Cat 345 Excavators, Cat 621 scrapers, Cat D-3 to Cat D-9 dozers, rock crushers, fleet of articulated dump trucks, fleet of rubber tire backhoes and wheel loaders, motor graders, compactors, over-the-road dump trucks and tractor trailers, and an air curtain destructor.
