For over 47 years, BMI has built exceptional homes all over the Tulsa Metropolitan area. The company specializes in building $500,000 to $7 million custom homes on lots with all types of terrain. BMI’s mission is to deliver an unparalleled level of service with integrity and good humor.BMI was founded by Bill Rhees in 1968, winning numerous awards and honors during his 46-year career including Tulsa Builder of the Year in 1998. Carrying on the family tradition, his son Phil graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1988 with a degree in Finance. After five years as a banker, he joined Bill at BMI in 1994. Phil holds the Certified Graduate Builder (GCB) and Certified Green Professional (CGP) designations from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). After holding several national leadership positions, Phil continues to serve on their Board of Directors. Phil is also a “Registered Professional Builder”, as designated by the Oklahoma State HBA and served as its President in 2015. Phil has also had the honor of serving as President of the HBA of Greater Tulsa and was named Tulsa Builder of the Year in 2000, Oklahoma Builder of the Year in 2009, and Spirit Award winner in 2008 and 2012. BMI also received numerous design awards for their custom built homes; the awards are proudly displayed in the office trophy case!BMI strongly believes in staying current with the latest energy efficiency and building techniques, and Phil annually completes at least 12 hours of continuing education.
