Known throughout the stone industry as The Tile King, Joseph Fuda was a gentle giant. Those who knew him could testify that he wasn't at all a giant in stature; rather, he was undeniably a giant in vision. This visionary giant had a heart of gold and the utmost respect and admiration for all whom he encountered. From humble beginnings, he and his childhood sweetheart, Ida, immigrated to the United States in 1948 with the hopes of sharing his passion for stone with America. Today, Fuda Tile, with its multiple NJ tile and stone showroom locations, is a New Jersey landmark that has been serving the tri-state area for over 50 years.A pioneer in his day, Mr. Fuda transformed the world of ceramic and stone from something ordinary into designs of beauty and elegance that could take your breath away. It was during the time when granite countertops in the kitchen were unheard of that Mr. Fuda, with his unmatched talent and perseverance, was one of the first men on the East coast to fabricate slabs of granite and marble. What started out in a tiny, one-car garage located in Ridgefield, NJ grew into one of the most successful chains of NJ tile stores.
