Sourdough Sodbusters is a family owned and operated sod farm based approximately 40Km. north of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon Territory. We are the most northerly sod farm in Canada and the second most northerly in all of North America.
This business was founded by Allen & Irma Falle who bought the property in the 1970's. The land was cleared and the farm was open for business in 1985 and is proud to still be owned and operated by the Falle Family. Allen and Irma now enjoy retirement while their eldest son, Ray and his wife Vanessa are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business. In the summer of 2011, Noah Falle (Ray & Vanessa's eldest son) joined the family operation as the office manager. He's 13. When you call the farm to place your order, he's the voice on the other end of the line 99% of the time. He is very knowledgeable and competent. You can trust him with your questions and other order information. Noah's younger brother, Seth is eager to be tall enough to drive the tractors just like dad & grandpa! Until then, he's usually riding his dirtbike or bicycle around the farm (enter the driveway carefully, he's usually in the middle of the road with the dogs!)
With a love of their surroundings and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, Ray & Vanessa strive to maintain a business continually minizing it's impact on the environment, and are continually developing and implementing new and innovative methods & practices.
Very nice grass. It thrived after I laid it.
